Current Students Research Alumni Faculty & Institutes Campuses Visitors & Community Current Students Presently we have about 5000 students enrolled from all over Uganda and from other countries like Austria, Burundi, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Italy, Ivory Coast, Kenya, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Rwanda, Slovenia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, the United States of America and Zambia. Of these about 2500 are full time resident on the Campus, and of the remainder are either following distance-learning courses or part-time programmes. We have also hosted students from Europe and USA involved in research and field work. This international atmosophere gives members of our community a rich experience of values and cultural exchange. Facilities and Services Associations Chaplaincy UMUSU Research Research is part of UMU’s three-track mandate (i.e. teaching, research and community service). Indeed, its research activities touch on all three categories of research relevant to a higher learning institution, namely, student research, staff research and outreach research. The Research directorate is principally responsible for overseeing the management of research in Uganda Martyrs University and is run by a team comprising of the Director, Assistant Director, Editor and Documentation Officer. Read More Alumni Uganda Martyrs University Alumni Association (UMUAA) was established in 2001. Our main aim: Through fellowship bridge academia, practice and the community. Our goals are: • As an association, to consistently get- together; • To fundraise for and undertake UMUAA’s projects; • To publish all activities as part of a website, links, and a newsletter; • To act as a conduit for internship/employment opportunities; • To facilitate Seminars/Workshops on pertinent issues; • To engage in Community development as CSR; • To involve students (as interns) on all projects –as ushers, runners, task managers/assistants, administrators, editors, publicity assistants, graphics designers and website managers. In case you are using public transport, buses (coasters) to Masaka, found in the Kampala New Taxi Park, are the most recommended to board. Kayabwe trading centre, one kilometre after the Equator Sign, is where you will alight. Boda Bodas (motorcycles) or a taxi will get you to the main campus.A three-kilometer murram road links the Campus and the main road at Kayabwe. A small guest house is available, and it is advised that you make arrangements for accommodation prior to your visit. A total of 1,422 candidates received certificates, diplomas and degrees. Both colourful events were preceded by Eucharistic services and were coloured by the UMU choir, Mulago Choir and the UMU troupe. The Chancellor, the minister of State for Higher Education Dr. John Chrysostom Muyingo and the Minister of Health Dr. Christine Ondoa where among the chief Guests for both occasions.. Video Conferencing Facility Uganda Martyrs University Through the Nuffic IT project has acquired a Video Conferencing Facility as one of the facilities in the Nuffic Research Center Proposed Change of Semester Dates 2012/2013 The University is in the process of revising the Semester dates for the Academic year 2012/2013.
